What is the Alexandrite Laser?

The alexandrite laser uses a synthetic ruby crystal called alexandrite, which is used as a solid-state laser source to emit a 755-nanometer infrared laser beam. Due to the very high absorption in melanin, it is used to treat indications such as HairHemoval and HyperPirmentation in light skin types (1-3).

What is ND:Yag Laser?

ND:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm is made with the active substance neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet. ND:YAG laser has the ability to reach deeper layers of the skin than other lasers. Proper absorption of this wavelength in melanin and hemoglobin derivatives has made the ND:YAG laser the best choice for the treatment of excess hair on dark and brunette skins (types 3-6). This laser is also used to treat various types of vascular lesions, hyperpigmentation, and rejuvenation.
